- Jessica asked, "Mom, do I have school tomorrow?" I answered yes. Then she tried this deal, "How about I stay home today and then I can go tomorrow."
- Jayson brings the Aristocats ornament off the tree to me and says, "meow."
- I have to close my eyes so my sons don't scare me. I saw Jacob riding down the hill on his two wheeler with his hands up over his head like he was on a roller coaster or something. It shouldn't surprise me. When he was two he would ride his Fisher Price 4 wheeled motor bike down hills with no hands AND no feet.
- James has been an awesome babysitter for me. He has almost earned enough money to pay for repairs on his Nintendo DS. I like how willing he has been to do extra jobs and hope he won't stop once he gets his games back.
- The boys learned to rake our leaves. Jon suggested that they go to the neighbors to see if they could rake leaves for $1. Now each day the boys head out after school with the green waste can and the rake and ask for jobs. A few of their friends in the neighborhood have started to join them. Sometimes Jacob sneaks out first so he can get jobs without sharing the profit - sneaky. The added bonus is that Jon NEEDS leaves for the compost pile. So the boys bring the leaves home and we recycle the leaves.
- I have a mini fruit grove in my garage right now. Jon has several young fruit trees in containers. It's been quite cold, so he brought them in to keep them cozy. Our tomato plants are still producing. They have been tucked in the last few nights with a blanket. Jon said he might string Christmas lights on them for warmth.
- Remember last summer how I made several batches of freezer jam? Jayson got it all out and left trails down the hall and into the family room like Hansel & Gretel. He also left the outdoor freezer door wide open. He's always finding trouble.
- Jayson started watching shows a couple weeks ago, but it HAS TO BE Baby Einsteins. Max & Ruby, Little Bear, Signing Time, or Richard Scary will NOT WORK. He will hit the TV, turn off the power, hit the parent closest to him, scream & cry. Baby Einsteins or BUST. Good thing he's getting a set of DVDs for Christmas.
- Jon & I decided to invite a child along on one of our dates so they could have special time with both parents. James came with us last week. We had to bypass Rubios (where Jon & I go) for In-and-Out. I forgot how great their burgers are.
- After spending the morning at the oncology clinic, we are happy to note that we don't go back until February. Jacob had clear pelvic CT & chest x-rays in November. His visits will now be every four months
