I Feel the Earth Moving Under My Feet

It was Tuesday when the earthquake rumbled through our area. I had the four kids loaded in the car to go on a picnic and a game of frisbee golf. I had stepped back in the door to pick up to the cooler. You know that I'm a dizzy blond, but I noticed the lamp swaying a little. Then I saw the chandelier dangling - nobody is tall enough to set that thing in motion. Am I seasick? Usually I hear noise in an earthquake, but it all seemed muted.

So just now - I got a call from some medical something saying, "We have Jacob scheduled to be admitted today..." WHAT?!! Today. I thought we had until next Monday. We're trying to get grandma flown out and a family photo taken. We're trying to have a Fast Sunday and day of rest before the earthquake begins. They are going to call me back. Have I told you that I don't like surprises?
