Jessica gave her first talk in Primary today. She was SO excited - you would have thought it was Christmas morning. She sat in the front row and kept looking back with her eyebrows raised and a big grin on her face. It was pretty special because our whole family was in Primary for her talk.
This is her talk:
Heavenly Father gave me a family. I have a mom and dad who love me very much. I have big brothers and a baby brother. In my family I learn how to love others. I learn how to be a good helper. I learn about Jesus. Heavenly Father wants my family to last forever. It’s all part of his gospel plan. I am happy that Heavenly Father & Jesus love me so much. I am happy to be part of my family.
I would say a phrase and then she would say it. Whispering in her ear doesn't work unless you expect her to whisper it also. Besides having us each say it adds a second witness. I do really believe in the importance of families. I like primary talks because they get to the simple truth.
Good job my JessiLu. Mommy is so proud of you.
P.S. The pictures are from a few weeks ago when the kids were helping me make banana bread. She got so camera happy - almost giddy. These were the types of expressions she had before giving her Primary talk. We may have a public speaker on our hands.

Great Job Jessica!
ReplyDeletei love it when those talk slips somehow don't make it to me until right before church. i didn't even know that kate was doing the scripture on sunday, luckily kit was in there. these girls are growing up too fast.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute talk! Both of my big kids are giving talks in primary (one in senior, the other in junior). I delegated the task of talk-preparation to Laren since Sunday is Mother's Day. I'm pretty sure I'll need a backup, so I'm going to keep this one with me just in case!
ReplyDeleteGrandma is so proud of you Jessica. I love you and your sweet family too. Love ya tons. Grandma Ottley
