Masquerade - Ready for Preschool

Jessica delights in preschool. Several weeks ago she game downstairs all dressed up - from her crown to her trinket filled purse to the poofy hair ribbon she wore around her arm down to her backwards flip flops. Add her beautiful butterfly mask and she was ready for the Masquerade Ball, I mean preschool. I'm not sure what inspired this ensemble, but she loves to be creative.

One morning we were walking home after bringing James to school. Jessica started collecting an assortment of twigs, leaves, sprigs. I was impressed by the diversity of texture and the earthy colors she collected. At one point she added a dandelion - one that was perfectly ready to blow into a few dozen seedlings - but then she omitted it. I asked why she wasn't including it in her bouquet. "Those kind are for making wishes," she said. She was so pleased with her "masterpiece" when we got home. I asked if I could photograph it. She made it perfectly clear that she would NOT be in any photos. I tried to convince her just to be a hand model, but she got away from me and so did the hour because I never got a snap of the arrangement on my porch chair.




Another memorable day from preschool was the day Jessica brought home her new pink pet - a rubber worm - lovingly named, "Pinky." She brought this thing everywhere. She was so happy to have a pet. She carried it around on the little plate that had seeds glued to it. She took it in the tub with her and to bed with her. It's the easiest pet EVER!
