I know that most kids love to hear the chiming melody of the ice cream truck. My kids are no different. When the boys were little, I told them that it was the music truck. I didn't need them asking for dollars every few days. As they've grown older and have had the opportunity to manage some personal funds, they have wanted to make purchases from the ice cream truck. I've tried to explain that we could buy a WHOLE BOX treats for the price of one. But they insist that there are novelties that only the ice cream man can provide. We had to put a limit on how often they could use their own money to make purchases. There's a truck that comes through our neighborhood regularly - seemingly right before dinner.
But what has caught their attention lately goes beyond ice cream. They are mesmerized by the trinkets & toys. Apparently the ice cream trucks have THE BEST LEGENDARY POKEMON CARDS ever. I can't complain much because the packs only run $2 - Target charges $4. So I guess there is a deal to be had from the ice cream man.
Recently my kids darted inside to find their wallets, and then were lulled out toward the street. Kind of crazy that we have moving vehicles signaling the call to run toward the street.
So what was their loot. Jessica was gifted a free Tootsie Pop for running to the truck. Jacob purchased a LOUD Pop gun. James purchased a squishy water ball (which did later explode and spill all over).

James looks so grown up all of a sudden!
