Seriously

My little charmer with his rosy cheeks has a very short attention span when it comes to mom's photography practice. He wants to pose and flash his winner smile and then be done. I want him to give me a chance to capture a different mood, but it's a challenge. In the first photo I told Jacob NOT to smile and just wait so I could adjust my settings. The settings weren't adjusted correctly and it was quite overexposed. Then he gave me two quick smiles (with better exposure) and then he was done. I played in Elements to salvage the first just because it's different.

Artistically I love all the glass chimes in the window and the colorful reflections on the glass. I love the texture of the wood and concrete. From a mom's point of view, I love that Jacob is wearing his Jr. Rancher Badge from Arches National Park in the middle of his shirt. His hair is sweat styled from his hiking adventure that morning. And I do love his adorable smile.

  1. love, love, love the photos. The locations are awsome. Hey, I was going to tell you that I am trying the 30 day trial of Lightroom (from the adobe website). I love it!

  2. Gotta love Jacob for that Ranger Badge. He wore it to school for two days after we got back from UT! In his REI passport, he wrote how he remembered not to "Bust the Crust" (don't walk off the path at Arches Nat'l Park). The REI guys loved it! Maybe he's found his calling in life?
