Last week I heard click clack clankity clank coming from the kitchen. I walked in to see Jayson clenching two steak knives in one hand - one by the handle, the other NOT. I calmly snapped my fingers and appeared by his side instantly to remove said sharp utensils. Jayson had a new love for the dishwasher. Previously he had sorted the cups or rearranged the plates (not yet splatting one all over the tile). Of course, he loved to STAND on the dishwasher door to reach thing on the counter also. All 27 pounds 9 oz. of him had us worried about door breakage. Thus the new additions.
We've had other trouble areas too. Jon bought a collection of child locks to stop our little investigator in his tracks. Nothing like a busy toddler to expose your weak spots. Here's a peak of recent disaster zone areas:
Cotton balls all over - I can deal with that. He was getting way more use out of them than I do. Spilt travel-sized soaps - not so cool. Jayson can & DOES turn on the tub water (even though the handles have been removed). Some days he turns on the tub and then leaves the room (we DO try to keep ALL bedroom doors closed, but he KNOWS when they've been left open). His recent venture was to climb in the tub and play in the water. And today he showed me that he can climb on the tub, stand on the edge, and reach the sink to turn on that water. Yeah!
It's been a couple days without baby raiding the knives, but I must report that as of this morning that lock is busted. All utensils are once again - fair game. Amazing what a little will power and constant pulling can do. SNAP!!!

scary and oh so funny too.

Wow, Ellie has not been inquistive like that. You have to baby proof your house totally.
