October Rundown - Week 3 - part 2

I guess doing a weekly rundown is like a huge run sentence because we keep having big long weeks full of activities, so I just decided to break this week down so I could keep all the highlights in our family journal (do you like my run on sentence?).

Did I mention that Jon was on a business trip in Las Vegas? I don't sleep well when he is not home and the kids all have meltdowns when he's not here. I'm thankful that my kids have a father in the home that makes them feel safe, but it sure is a pain when said father needs to be at a distant meeting. James and Jacob usually help bath the little kids or read their stories and then they like to stay up later with me :)

I met Chrissy, one of my mission companions, for lunch. She drove out to meet me at a pupusa place. What are pupusas? If you don't know, you are missing out. They are a Salvadoran dish that I was introduced to when I lived in Takoma Park, Maryland. YUM!!! Chrissy & I were a bit disappointed when we saw the big FOR LEASE on the building and found out that the restaurant was closed. We went to Soup Plantation instead which wasn't as cool of a restaurant, but the company was fabulous. Jayson was a bit of a beast - lying of the floor, pouring out the salt, switching seats, etc. But Chrissy is the best!!! Meet you anytime.

I went to my first School Site Council meeting ever. I volunteered to be on the council, but you have to be voted in. I didn't win, but am the alternate which basically means that they don't really want you to come to the meeting unless an actual council member can't make it. The meeting went on FOREVER. I finally had to leave early because Jayson had been at a friends for an hour past our scheduled pick up time and I needed to make dinner before leaving for choir practice.

Friday night was Date Night with James. I kind of wanted to have Jon to myself, but we needed a time to celebrate James' straight "A"s. We dined at TGI Fridays and played at GameWorks. I enjoy talking with James. It's so hard to have a real conversation with the other kids in the mix.

Finishing off the week was teaching a class at a Music Workshop & taking family photos for a friend. I'm nearly done with all my editing projects and hopefully will start blogging on my photography blog soon :)

P.S. Here's the reason we keep running out of paper drinking cups:
