Sunday was Jon's birthday. It kind of came as a surprise because we've been wrapped up in figuring out our new life with cancer and finishing out the basketball season. A friend came to my rescue (AGAIN) and offered to pick up a Banana Cream Pie (Jon's favorite) from Marie Calendars. I was so thankful she did because Saturday along with the regular weekend chores, I created Jessica's job chart & cleaned out the garage entry area for back to school. Jon moved my computer desk out of "our" home office so it could be more of a work office. I now have a mini office in the nursery/guest room. There was no way I was going to get out and plan a party too. Anyway, I had forgotten how delicious this pie is. What a treat!!
The kids don't appreciate pie and we didn't mind keeping all the slices to ourselves, so Jacob helped bake a chocolate cake. I even made homemade frosting. WHAT was I thinking when I've EVER bought the stuff in a tub. It was so yummy.
I put 3 tall candles for the 30 and then got out 5 more - "you're 35 right?"
"No. 36." he said.
"You mean I am 35 already?" I'm kind of a dork. I guess I thought I was still 34. I can't remember how old I am anymore. And just so you know we are completely disconnected with the rest of the world (except of course bloggers on my Google Reader). We've been a little self absorbed in our family drama. PLUS we suspended our cable tv service for the summer to save $50 per month. We don't know more than two bits about the Olympics. Now if I can just get my wireless connection to stop shorting out on me, I'll post more pics and perhaps Google the Olympics.

It's hours later and after dozens of failed attempts to post pics, my sweet hubby came and wired down this computer. No more flaky wireless for me.

Happy Birthday Jon!
ReplyDeleteI tried to Jon for his birthday on Monday while driving to Price. But when I tried to leave a message I found "dead space" I don't think he got my message. Happy Birthday Jon!!
