Target

I've calculated the cost of my shopping trips to Target (my FAVORITE store). It costs me about $100 per hour. If the trip is going to cost under $50, I need to get in and out of there in a hurry. I'm usually there between 45 minutes - 1 hour, so a typical trip costs about $75-$100. Today I was there just over 2 hours (I'm walking slower these days and you have to add in the time it takes me to load/unload Jayson from the Snuggli). With my spend $100 save $10 coupon, I spent $196.29

Today's cart was filled with: Easter baskets & treats, birthday gifts for Jessica including the Enchanted DVD, swimwear & cover-up for Jessica, pink frames, hair products, protein bars, Yoplait Key Lime yogurt (this is our FAVORITE flavor and it is always 54 cents at Target), 5x7 envelopes, T-shirt for James, baby bib, wrapping paper on clearance, and more hangers.

I dare you to time yourself next time you shop Target. What's it costing you?

  1. My shopping trips to Target are actually a little bit cheaper than yours...per hour. The only reason being, when I go (every week) I have to walk down every isle. I dropped Maura off at preschool yesterday and spent the whole 2 hours in target. Noah opened a bag of Baked Lays, a box of fruit leather, a box of crackers and a water bottle all while we were in the store. Needless to say, I spend about 5-10 bucks every time in "entertainment" food and other items every time I go. It is worth it to me. I feel a huge sense of satisfaction when I walk out of Target having spent my $168.00! I had soooooo much stuff!
