James was home sick today. He spent some of his resting time adding up how much it would cost to get a new Wii video game system including controllers and games for Christmas. He even cut out a couple of the games for reference.
Later I found Jessica on the stairs pouring through the pink pages. She loves all the doll things, dress ups, kitchen sets, and Polly Pockets. I sat with her as she expressed her delight on each page. She wanted to "read" this book over and over. I remember marking pages in the toy section of the Sears or JCPenny catalogs that we had growing up. She kept saying, "I want to bring this one home... and this one home.." It was fun to dream with her about what might be inside her Christmas presents.
After school Jacob got hold of the catalog. He found the Nintendo DS & the Sonic game he wants to go with it.
For once I kept my mouth shut about how there's NO WAY that we are going to buy all that stuff. All the dreams were alive today and it was kind of fun.
Jennifer, Thank you for stopping by my little blog. :) It is always fun to meet new friends. I love catologs at Christmas time. Now my kids are loving it too! This seems to be a favorite thing to read the months of November, and December.
ReplyDeleteWe got this catalog, too, although it was intended for the previous owners of our house. My kids like to look through it, but no one has yet informed them that these things are for SALE and they could ASK for them. Shhhhhh....
